Strong winds and heavy rains on June 24 caused downed trees and power outages in Chestnut Hill and the surrounding area.

A tree on the unit block of West Southhampton fell on a house and a pole containing power lines. It split the pole in half and damaged a transformer. On Monday morning, crews were on site replacing the transformer, power lines and cleaning up debris.

Kristina Pappas, spokeswoman for Peco, said the severe winds and rain caused by the storm caused several tree-related outrages in Northwest Philadelphia. She said crews were working overnight to make sure everyone’s power is restored.
